Fire Academy in Refugio Texas

A 13-week fire academy that prepares you for certification testing. Want to become a certified firefighter through a real academy? 4 courses, 13 weeks, 1 mission. Register Today! This is a State Firefighters’ and Fire Marshalls’ accepted training course designed to meet the standards of at least NFPA 1001, 1010, and 470 among others. This is the start of the pathway to Texas Commission on Fire Protection basic structural firefighting reciprocity certification (for TCFP you must also have medical training to at least Emergency Medical Responder).

This course prepares you to either Test SFFMA firefighter certification or TCFP firefighter certification. This hybrid course meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6p-10p and every other Saturday 8a-4p. Graduation from this course is scheduled for April 17th, 2027.
